I was in either grade 10 or grade 11 at Gloucester High School
(1968-'69) when our little clique of hash-smokers (toking off a pin!) welcomed its first
Blackburn stoner. His family would have been among the earliest settlers in the Hamlet and he would have been in the vanguard of an army of potheads to emerge from that "exciting but...peaceful and quiet" east-end neighbourhood over the next five decades.
